Stressing Jack

TMG Stressing Jack (also known as Multi Strand Jack) is small, compact and highly efficient. Unlike the Mono Jack where a single PC strand is stressed at any one time, Stressing Jack is meant to stress all the strands in the tendon at the same time. The purpose of stressing all strands at the same time is for speed and accuracy.

TMG Stressing Jack offers great flexibility for matching with different types and configuration of anchors. Both the Limiting Plate (also commonly known as Front Plate) and Gripper Plate (also known as Back Plate) are not permanently fixed to the Stressing Jack. For example, a stressing job that uses 12, 15 and 19 strands anchors. You may use the same Stressing Jack to accomplish all the stressing work for these different types of anchors. By changing the Limiting and Gripper Plate, it allows for greater flexibility in utilizing the same Stressing Jack for different anchors configuration. This greatly reduces the requirement for multiple Stressing Jacks for different anchor type at the same job site. Operators can fully optimize the usage of these Stressing Jacks with minimum investment and also cut down the requirement to keep interchanging different Stressing Jacks. This increases the work site efficiency and productivity. And lesser Stressing Jacks also means lesser maintenance and calibration cost.

TMG produces Stressing Jack from 100 to 1,500 tonnes with the capability for customized anchors configurations. Some stressing jobs also requires special jack design, example

  • Boiler tube on the centre hole of the jack.
  • Enlarged centre hole diameter.
  • Elongated Limiting Plate (extruded nose) to access to beam’s recess.
  • Long or short stroke Jack.
  • Mechanical Lock to hold Stressing Jack at specific stroke location and free up pressure on Stressing Pump.
  • Power Seating
  • Custom sizes.
  • Corrosion resistance plating for highly corrosive environment etc.

TMG ability to customize and tailor to all these special demands had made us the preferred choice for multistrand Stressing Jack.

Our standard Stressing Jack is also 35% - 40% lighter than many other makers. These advantages are crucial to many operators as it will lessen the workload on the users during post tensioning. And with its compact size, it can work in smaller confined places and also reduce the usage of PC strand.

TMG also offers an electronic stressing system where electronic load cell and displacement transducer are embedded into the Stressing Jack. This allows for the stressing job to be electronically controlled by a remote computer. Information like stressing force and desired elongation can be programmed into the computer. Once all necessary data are programmed into the computer, the system will then carry out the stressing automatically. And with artificial intelligence built into the system, automatic stressing compensation, abnormal stressing behavior, incorrect post tensioning practice etc. can then be accomplished with the help of technology.

At the end of the stressing, all information like beam number, type of anchors, stressing force, elongation, etc are recorded automatically into the computer system. This technology eliminates the possibility of human errors and further strengthen the data recording / backup process. And the information can then be electronically sent to all parties involved for authentications and verifications.

Technology is moving by leaps and bounds. And we believe that conventional post tensioning works can also move in tandem with technological innovations for prestressed concrete structures.
